Among the extraterrestrial festivals of Jain philosophy, the festival in Shirmore is Paryushana and Sanvatsari. It is stated in the Jain chapters that during the circulation of the world, human beings are affected by eight foolish deeds and one hundred and fifty-eight sub-forms of karma affect the human soul. Then the action of doing this survey is the order of day and night pratikraman. This pratikrama eliminates evils. But if the daily pratikrama is not done, the intensity of sin increases.
