Lata Mangeshkar has now revealed the secret of 1979

No one can be unaware of the dance magic of Bollywood's 'Dream Girl' Hema Malini. His love for ISKCON, his devotion to Krishna is well known. That is why during the recent Janmashtami celebrations, the veteran actress took care of her 19th film 'Meera'.

Hema Malini was to play the lead role in Gulzar Saab's film. His music was to be given by Laxmikant-Pyarelal duo. And Lata Mangeshkar's voice was to be found in her songs. Knowing all this, Hema Mali was very excited to do this movie. But when Lata Mangeshkar refused to give her voice to the songs of the film, Hema Malini's enthusiasm waned.

The actress said that working in Gulzar Saab's 'Meera' was like a dream come true for me. I am also a devotee of Krishna. And I always wanted Lata Mangeshkar to sing my song. But when he refused to sing 'Meera' songs, I personally called him. But he decided not to sing the songs of this film. Laxmikant-Pyarelal also withdrew from the film after hearing his decision. And in his place Pandit Ravi Shankar gave his music.

But the question here was why Lata Mangeshkar refused to sing the songs of 'Meera'? In response, Swarasamrajni revealed that I sang Mira's hymns for my brother Hridaynath Mangeshkar's album 'Chala Wahi Desh'. So I decided that what I really needed to do was learn how to do it right.

It is worth mentioning here that later the songs of this movie were sung by Vani Jayaram. And for that she was awarded the Best Female Playback Singer award. (Mere to Giridhar Gopal- for the song).
