Online education has made children addicted to mobile

- Children who are more active on social media than studying are becoming a headache for parents

For more than a year now, it has been the children's turn to live within the four walls of the house. Meanwhile, he has become addicted to using mobiles. Naturally parents are concerned about this. They often tell their children to stay away from mobiles, but even the parents are fed up because the children do not listen to them. So what is the solution to this problem? In response to this, experts say ..,

We have many cases of children complaining about mobile addiction. He says his child is still barely eight or nine years old, but he is active on social media. After completing the online class on mobile, he becomes active on Facebook, watches short videos and plays games. It is natural for parents to be concerned about their children. Due to the lockdown in reality, there is no other option to teach children except online classes. As a result, we are inevitably giving them mobiles or other devices. But it is being used more for social media as well as other reasons than to study.

A study conducted by the National Commission for the Protection of Child Rights found that the use of social media among children over the age of 18 has increased significantly. Not only that, a number of 10 year olds have their own accounts on social media. According to the percentage given to it, 4.5 per cent of children under the age of 10 have a Facebook account and 4.5 per cent have an Instagram account. The study was conducted in the period from July to December last year. The results of this study have added to the anxiety of parents.

Supriya, a mother of two, complains that her daughter is eight years old and her son is five. But both of them remain attached to mobile all day long. They don't even eat if they are not given a mobile. And if you give them a mobile, they don't need anyone else. They don't care if someone comes and goes in the house. They are not interested in anything except mobile and they are not ready to hear or understand anything about this matter. While a mother named Bhavika says that the nature of her daughter who is studying in the fifth standard has changed completely. At one stage, his daughter, who was considered to be very calm and wise, has been irritated by small talk for the last one and a half years and responds against it.

Some parents even talk to their children's teachers about this. The principal of a well-known school in Mumbai says there is no doubt that children's screen time has increased. Even eight- to ten-year-olds are being harassed by parents for fear of losing their eyesight as they are active on social media. Moreover, because of this they are moving away from society, their physical activities are declining. And even children get irritated. The reason for this is that they can neither leave the house nor meet their friends. This is having a direct effect on his personality. And parents complain to us that children don't listen to us, maybe if you say so. He further says that as children become more and more stubborn, their endurance decreases. They are becoming obese as they become sedentary, resulting in fatigue sooner. Parents also complain that even during online classes, they start playing games by minimizing the screen or peeping into social media.

Experts say that even parents are slowly losing their patience. They are starting to get angry at the children very soon. They often treat their children as if they wanted to tell them to go and do what they have to do. What we do. In fact, by doing so, they are moving away from their children. If this continues for a long time, it will affect the whole society. Teachers say that at an early stage, that is, when the online class started, the children's parents sat with them, took an interest in their studies, took an interest in what was being taught to them and encouraged them to study. But that doesn't happen anymore.

However, due to work from home, working mothers also have to do housework over office work. If the elders of the house also live with them, they also have to take care of them. In this case, they could not pay attention to the children's online class. However, psychiatrists say that there is no problem that cannot be solved. Yes, you have to be patient. Hard times are coming right now. Parents cannot send children out. And the mobile at home remains in their hands. In such a situation, parents need to be very patient. If they persuade the children to stay away from the mobile in a logical way instead of rocking all day, then over time the children will start to understand them. In the same way, if the child pays attention to what he should do instead of what he should not do, he will see positive results. Explaining to children by giving examples also develops their problem solving skills. And most importantly, parents create their own video chat rooms to let their children talk to their friends. In this way the problems of the offspring can be solved.
