The names of Gajavakatra (Gajanan) and Dvaimatur are mysterious. One has to unravel a myth to unravel its mystery. There is a new suggestion in Brahmavaivarta Purana (7-8-8). - 'Vishnu Prasad Pushyam Cha Yanmurghni Munidattakam. Tad gajendravakatra yukte gajavakatra namamyaham. Once Devraj Intra came to the banks of Pushpabhadra river. It was a beautiful flower garden by the river. While he was wandering in it, the most beautiful nymph of heaven, Rambha, also came there by chance. Devraj Indra and Devlok Sundari Rambha started working in the flower garden like a paradise. After spot sports he also did water sports in the lake there.
At that time Maharshi Durvasa accidentally reached there and was going to Shivlok from Vaikuntha. Indra and Rambha greeted him and asked for blessings from him, Maharshi Durvasa blessed him. He then handed over a Parijat flower received from Lord Srihari to Devraj Indra and said - 'This flower is the destroyer of all obstacles. The one who wears it on his head will be the most intelligent, the brightest, the strongest, the most virtuous, the first revered among the gods, the most wealthy, the most glorious of the fourteen Bhuvans, the most omnipotent and the most revered and most revered as Lord Srihari. He who does not wear it on his head and disrespects it will be deprived of his position-prestige-glory-glory-strength and power. After saying this, giving the flower given by Lord Vishnu to Indra, he ran from there towards Shivlok.
In work, the mad Indra and Rambha did not pay attention to Maharshi Durvasa. In pride, Chakchaur Indra placed the flower on the head of his elephant Airavat instead of placing it on his head. After a few moments, Indra became powerless. Rambha kept leaving him and Airavat elephant also kept going to Garh forest. There he began to wander with the elephant. In that forest she gave birth to many cubs. Then a wonderful event happened. The Parijat flower of Lord Vishnu showed its influence.
Bhagwati Parvati made an idol from her limbs and prayed to her husband Devadhidev Shivaji to breathe life into her and make her famous as a son and make her worldly. Lord Shiva communicated prana in that form through Vedokta Jivasukta and Srishtisukta and said - that Goddess! This son will become successful and revered in the world and will become the ruler of the people and will gain fame by the name of Ganesha. The festival was then celebrated in Kailash.
Every god, sage, planetary deity. They came to see him but Shanidev did not come. Saturn's wife cursed him that whatever he saw would be immediately beheaded. For this reason he did not come to see Parvati's son and bless him. Parvati persuaded him to come to his son. Under the influence of the curse, Saturn's vision fell and the child was beheaded. At that time, Lord Vishnu separated the Airavat elephant's head from its torso and immediately placed it on the severed head of Parvatiputra Ganesha.
Due to this, Ganesha got two names - Dvaimatur and Gajanan. Dvayormatrorapatya Puman Dvaimatur: The son of two mothers is Dvaimatur. One of his mothers is Shiva's wife Janani Parvati. The head of the other mother was placed on Ganesha's torso like an elephant. At the same time he came to be known as Gajavakatra-Gajanan because his head was that of an elephant.
