Sharad Kelkar: Artist like 'Har Bandar Ka Vyapari'

- Actor Sharad Kelkar was constantly busy shooting while a number of actors were clamoring for work during the epidemic. Not only that, three of his films were also released.

The actor says I was lucky enough to be able to work consistently. Else my wife always tells me that either I am working or looking for a job. But I guess what else does the artist think? I have played different roles for four films since December. Naturally without taking care of my body it has taken a lot of work from him. In the meanwhile sometimes I gained weight and sometimes I lost. However, last time I increased my weight for my Marathi film from 3 to 5 kg. So now I have to focus on weight loss. There was no opportunity to work out while shooting in different parts of India as well as in Turkey. The gym was locked everywhere. So weight gain did not happen very often. But it is certain that there will be shortness of breath.

It may be mentioned here that even during the epidemic, Sharad Kelkar's 'Darban', 'Lakshmi' and 'Bhuj: The Pride of India' were released. This actor, however, has no arrogance. He says his shootings were already over. Introduced in 'Bhuj: .....' with a little patch work. Yes, I am so lucky that I started shooting for the web series 'Black Widows' from the end of August last year. And by December I had finished shooting four films. Of course, I did all the shooting, following the rules of corona and being very careful. Honestly, I don't like sitting on my feet at home at all.

The death scene played by Sharad in 'Bhuj: The Pride of India' has been highly praised. But Sharad is very proud not only of this scene, but of the entire film. "I have always wanted to join the army," he says. I also passed his written exam. I also have some friends in the Indian Army. And when it comes to pepper spray for the country, those sensations are automatically generated from within. We people filmed the action scenes in one day. But I had to take three or four steps for the dying scene.

The actor further says that there is no greater reward for any artist than praise. People have come to know me after a career of 15 years and numerous films. They are praising me for my performance. I have played different types of roles in all the films. To be honest, viewers are always hoping for something new.

Sharad Kelkar played the role of 'Shivaji' well in 'Tanhaji'. "I was shocked when the writer-director of the film, Om Raut, offered me the role," he said. We had never met before. Even when I turned the pages of history, I did not feel that our personalities were similar. But I found Shivaji Maharaj inside me. I was also inspired to play this role by the way Om Raut described him. All the credit for the role I was able to play goes to Om Raut and Ajay Devgn.

The actor lent his voice to ‘Baahubali’. He then also lent his voice for ‘The Legend of Hanuman’. In this regard, Sharad says that this is a very interesting series. Animation is usually done first and then dubbed. When dubbed in this series happened before. This can also mean that your tone can also act. Viewers loved both of his seasons. I am not happy that my three shows, 'Family Man', 'Special Ops' and now 'Hanuman' are in the top 10 shows. 'Family Man' is an extra dimension for me.

Sharad Kelkar has also made inroads in the South Indian film industry with 'Aylam'. Apart from this Tamil film, he is also working in the English and Hindi movie 'Deja Vu'. He will also do a Marathi language historical film 'Pawan Khind' and an action-romance movie.

Speaking of the actor's personal life, he has a lot of respect for his mother, wife and daughter. In fact, he considers these three as his gurus. The actor says that my father passed away when I was only 16 years old. Yet my mother never interfered with my ambitions. My wife is my friend and guide. Since she herself is an actress (Kirti Gaekwad) I only accept or reject her after discussing each of my scripts with her.

Kirti shows me my flaws as well as praises me for whatever work I like. I consider the rest of my beloved daughter as my guru because she has calmed my mind. At one point I was a little angry. But after his birth my mind has calmed down.
