Silver futures rose by Rs 350 weekly


A total turnover of Rs 1,37,024.81 crore was recorded in 17,87,155 deals in various commodity futures, options and index futures on the country's leading commodity derivatives exchanges during the week from September 2 to 8. Among precious metals, gold-silver futures were in contention. Gold futures fell by Rs 30 per 10 grams, while silver futures rose by Rs 343 per kg.

Over the weekend, the global dollar index and the strength of bond-treasury yields led to a sell-off in gold markets. Bond yields fell later in the evening.

World gold prices were hovering around 17 1,794 an ounce and silver around 24 24.24 an ounce. Against this, the price of New York crude in the world market was news of 69 69.30 per barrel.

In the domestic spot market, gold at Ahmedabad traded at Rs 48,700 per 10 grams and Rs 48,900 per 99.90 grams, while spot silver traded at Rs 66,000 per kg, market sources said.

In the domestic futures market, gold-silver traded at Rs 40,006.89 crore in 7,26,819 precious metals at MCX. Among gold futures, MCX Gold October futures opened at Rs 47,049 per 10 grams at the beginning of the week, went up to Rs 47,598 intra-day and down to Rs 46,750 during the week, falling by Rs 30 to close at Rs 47,038 over the weekend.
