The science of pottery

What is the virtue of Maa Tea that it makes pottery, kodi, kodia, tawdi and various toys made by mixing only water strong? The mixture of ordinary soil and water performs a wonderful physical process. However, the skill and ingenuity of the potter play a big role in this. Clay is made up of fine particles. It does not melt in water. But a water mantle forms around each particle. The water between the two particles creates a surface tension and binds the two particles together. Thus every particle of clay clings to each other. It is a matter of experience and insight to add more water and how much water to put in the soil.

Now when the water between the two particles dries, the salts in the clay particles become crystals. And keeps the clay particles attached to each other forever. After making pottery, it is made into redha by heating it in a very hot furnace. Thus only clay, water and heat make different kinds of utensils.
