In the twenty-sixth chapter of Dashamaskandha of Shri Mad Bhagavatji, the Lord worshiped Girirajaji and assumed Girirajaji. Worship of Govardhan means worship of nature. Scholars believe that on the day of Kartak Sud Pratipada, Lord Krishna assumed Girirajaji. Before he assumed, the Lord wished for Annakut. The story is told in Dashamsakandha that it was the day of Diwali and while preparations were being made in Gokul, Lord Krishna asked Nandbava, "What are these preparations going on for?" The Lord asked, "Which Yajna do we perform?" So Nandbava said, "We perform Indra Yajna." So he said that whatever happens is the grace of Indra! By the grace of Indra it rains, from that rain grass grows in Girirajaji, that grass is eaten by cows and therefore cows give us milk. Then Shri Krishna, while imparting knowledge to the Lord, said, "Rain Devraj Indra does not rain but the rain falls according to nature. If you want to worship, worship Girirajaji. Our Ishtadev is Girirajaji and our Ishta Devi is Gaimata. "Then the people of Vraja asked," How to worship Girirajaji? He said that you should dedicate all the material of Annakut that you have made for Devaraja Indra to Girirajaji.
Then the people of Vraja, according to Lord Krishna, first of all anointed Girirajaji with milk and dedicated all the material of fifty-six victims to Girirajaji. We are there every day to wish Kartak Sud Pratipada - Deepavali day Annakut. So what was the main purpose of Annakut? So in his answer it is said that 'food' means 'grain' and 'kut' means 'heap.' In ancient times and even today, if we look at the situation somewhere, there was a time when there were some people who did not have enough food. He knew Shri Krishna Bhagwan so he made an arrangement through Annakut that there should be enough food for the hungry people and no one should go to bed hungry because there is a line that Lord does not feed anyone hungry. Thus this is a beautiful arrangement made by Lord Krishna since ancient times by which the Lord's offerings reach the smallest man. Thus, after the grain reaches everyone, everyone gets a complete sattvic food like milk. When there is a neighbor around and his condition is very bad, when we give him food, Sidhu-stuff, we do not think that I have given this, but we have to think that he and my father Paramatma are one and it is my duty. With that in mind, I do this work.
This occasion also explains to us that faith and doubt are the two things in life. In which doubt always haunts man but faith always bears fruit. So have faith in any work but do not have superstition. The idea of becoming a worshiper of nature and seeing Lord Vishnu all over the world is given by Lord Krishna. Thus, Kartak Sud Pratipada has the special glory of worshiping Govardhana during the day. In the same way that Lord Krishna wished for fifty-six sacrifices, we should deliver as much as we can to whatever material becomes or whatever becomes prasad. Just as Lord Krishna gave respect to the smallest person, so also if we give respect to such person and express reverence, then devotion to Lord Krishna will be considered meaningful, Astu with the same request!
