Gujaratis rarely see or read the scene where BJP and Congress workers are fighting against a third party on a particular issue - with a single demand. But in one state such scenes are seen by people every day! While the statue of the state Home Minister is being burnt by the Congress workers in one city, it is only natural that the news that BJP workers are holding a similar program in another city thirty kilometers away will not get much coverage in our Gujarati newspapers as this is from Orissa. A hiccup in the relatively quiet state of Orissa has now become a gold mine for local newspapers and local TV channels.

It's about Mamita Mehr. The 24-year-old girl was living with her parents and younger brother in Zarni village of Balangir district. Mahaling village, ten kilometers away from his village, comes in Kalahandi district. Mahaling had a private school from standard one to eight. Mamita was working as a principal in A Sunshine English School. The whole family was dependent on Mamita's salary. It is also interesting to know how this English medium school started. Mahalinga village like Khoba is 3 kilometers away from the district headquarters Bhavanipatna. 21 houses in the village and total population of 2100 people! Plenty of land was left vacant in the mahaling of a contractor named Govind Sahu. The village leaders told him that there was no science college anywhere around our village. Your land is useless for farming. Give a little land and it will work well. Govind Sahu is a good man. He said that even if I give the land, even if I get the approval of the science college from my identity, then the administration of that college should remain in my hands. The villagers agreed. Govind Sahu had a good relationship with Bhavanipatna MLA Divyashankar Mishra so the college was established. The boys from the surrounding village can do updown. A ladies' hostel was also set up to keep the girls out of trouble. The college received full support from the government. During this process, Govind Sahu decided to start a school business. His friend Divyashankar Mishra had now become the Home Minister of the state. Adoad Govind of the college also started his own private school - A school is Sunshine English School! Mamita was the principal of the school, teaching English to the children and was also the warden of the joint ladies' hostel for the school and the college.

On the morning of November 8, 2021, twenty-four year old Mamita got a call from Govinda, fifty four years old. The parents felt that there was some heated discussion between the administrator and the daughter. After talking, Mamita put the mobile in her purse and told her parents. "Saheb has some urgent work, so he calls the school right now." She left the house and boarded the bus to Mahalinga.

He did not come back till evening so younger brother Bunty called Mamita, but the mobile was switched off so all three were worried. The men reached the nearby Kagaon police station. After listening to him, the police said. 'Your daughter went to Mahalinga and never came back. Mahaling comes in Kalahandi district so no complaint is registered here. You have to go to Kalahandi district. ' The helpless parents got out and went to the Turkela police station to take a chance. The inspector there listened sympathetically and registered a reportable complaint and advised to register a complaint in Kalahandi district and also to write the name of the suspect without any fear.

Anxious parents lodged a complaint at Sindhkat police station in Kalahandi district the next day. It clearly states that the school principal Govind Sahu called Mamita by phone. Our daughter is aware of Govind's dirty business and she told Govind to stop all these pranks, so that bull has lost Mamita!

Police searched for Govind Sahu but could not find him. The district police chief announced a reward of Rs 20,000 for finding Govind. Finally, on the morning of the 17th, he was caught and kept in the Titalgarh lockup. At night, the lights of Titalgarh police station were lit. He went to the number two in the dark under the pretext of washing his hands! Mysteriously he escaped, so the reward was increased to one lakh rupees!

An audio clip of a student went viral and caused a stir in Orissa. In Orissa, the Congress and the BJP have not fought against the Second Janata Dal (BJD) since 2009. BJD's Naveen Patnaik has been the Chief Minister for years. This explosive audio clip gave the BJP and the Congress a chance to attack Naveen Patnaik and the media representatives reached Mahaling.

The audio clip was also well received by the media. Speaking without stealing any words, the student told the whole of Orissa that Govind Sahu runs a sex racket in Mahalinga. Anne's car or scooter is always seen lying outside the ladies' hostel. State Home Minister Divyashankar Mishra is special to Govind Sahu and also frequently stays overnight at the Ladies Hostel! The student also said that the girls of the hostel who are involved in sex racket get all the privileges here on campus, while mobiles are forbidden for others. The girls use mobiles from Vat!

After that, the journalists also found and viralized several photographs and video clips of the friendship between Govind Sahu and Home Minister Divyashankar Mishra.

Govind was apprehended from Budhipadar village on the evening of 19-11-2021 but three hours earlier, a police team accompanied by a magistrate reached Sunshine School with JCB machine. Govind was constructing a small stadium in the school playground and construction work was underway. (It is still a mystery how the police got such information before Govind was caught.) Mamita's remains found ten feet deep!

On the eleventh day after Mamita's disappearance, the mutilated-half-burnt pieces of her body were found. There was also a bracelet, a necklace, a burnt purse. Based on that, the parents identified the daughter's body! The scientific team took the bones and also took samples for DNA of Mamita's father and sent them to the state forensic lab.

During the five-day remand, Govinda confessed to the police. After that, on October 9, the state DIG. Deepak Kumar informed the media. Accordingly, Govind Sahu had rumors. Anne's schoolteachers and hostel girls were physically abused. Mamita has received such complaints. He boldly threatened Govind that if he did not stop such business, his black deeds would be exposed. Govind, a father of five, was shocked by the threat. On the eighth day, he called and persuaded Mamita but Mamita remained adamant. Govinda called to meet him to save his position. Thirty kilometers away from Mahalinga, Mataji's temple is a symbol of faith for all. According to his plan, Govinda took Mamta in his car to the temple and told her to take an oath in the temple and promise me that you would not open your mouth. Mamita flatly refused, so the bewildered Govinda implemented his plan 'B'. On his way back from there, he strangled and killed Mamita on the way! (Some media persons have also suspected that he had raped her before the murder.) He left Mamita's body on the floor under the back seat of the car and went home. He parked his car in the back of the bungalow and took a leisurely meal. He then took a scooter to school. Construction for the stadium was underway there. On the seventh day, Govinda dug a pit ten feet deep. There Govinda instructed Watchmen Radheshyam to order old tires and dry wood by evening and put it near the pit. The JCB operator should also be called in the evening.

Mamita's body remained in Govind's car for seven hours. At night he took the car to school and with the help of Radheshyam cut the corpse to pieces as soon as possible. Then they threw it into the pit, threw tires, petrol and wood over it and burned the corpse! Mamita's purse and mobile were also thrown into the pit along with the corpse.

JCB operator Pushkar Bhoi and his assistant Munshi-A were both watching the scene in a dazed state.

When the fire started, Govind went home after instructing Pushkar to fill the pit with soil by pouring salt on it.

Giving so much information about this incident to the media based on Govind's confession, Deepak Kumar said that

Govinda has confessed to the police, but there is enough evidence so our case will be strong in court. We also found Mamita's bracelet and a petrol carbo from Govind's confiscated car. Minimum four years under Section 120 of the Indian Penal Code, maximum ten years under Section 201. 202 provides for imprisonment for 15 or 20 years or up to life. BJP leader Vijayant Panda has been horrified by the aggression on Twitter. Congress MLA Santosh Singh Saluja has demanded the resignation of the Home Minister involved in the sex racket. Apart from Saluja, BJP's Vijay Mohapatra alleged that Govind Sahu and Divyashankar Mishra held three meetings with Mamita in Raipur from September 20 to 6 and tried their best to persuade her. Led by Youth Congress leader Smriti Lanka, black flags were hoisted in front of Naveen Patnaik's residence. On October 8, the BJP Mahila Morcha marched from Ramji Mandir Chowk to Naveen Patnaik's house, sparking a fierce confrontation with the police.
