The tenth Guru of Shia religion is Guru Gobind Singh. One day his disciples appeared before him and stated their problem: 'Gurudev! We worship God every day, but what if we do not benefit? '
Guru Gobind Singh said to him: 'Let me show you a way. Bring all the disciples together in a large pot filled with palms. And rinse the floor with it. ' Hearing the Guru's words, all the disciples went and, as per the order, brought a large pot full of palms and sat down by the pot, rinsing the palms and began to empty the pot. Finally emptying the floor, they reached Jupiter at noon. Guru Gobind Singh asked: 'Have you finished all the palms?' The disciples said: 'Gurudev! We have rinsed and emptied the palm fronds. ' He said: "Didn't you get drunk with so much applause?" The disciples said: 'How can we be intoxicated if we have not slapped the palm of the hand?'
Answering his question, Guru said: 'Disciples! You have worshiped God but from above. How do you get the benefit of God's name if you have not even uttered it? As long as your mind is attached to the worship of God, you will not get any benefit. If the sadhana-bhajan is done with inner depth, if it is done with concentration and intoxication, if it is done with joy and if one's mind is engaged in it, then it is definitely beneficial. A bhajan done with emotion. '
The disciples understood the difference between hymns.
