Submarine: Submarine

A submarine is a sea-going vehicle. But it can also walk to the surface of the ocean as well as to the bottom of the submerged sea. The submarine has the same propeller as the ship to keep it in motion. It has water tanks for diving. When these tanks are empty they float to the surface. The tank is filled with water when it is to be dipped. So its weight increases and moves towards the bottom. Submarines filled with the desired amount of water can be carried to a certain depth or bottom of the ocean.

Submarines have a closed cylindrical shape where water cannot enter. It has an adequate supply of air and oxygen. Submarines are mostly used for wartime or underwater research.

Russia's Typhoon Class, the world's largest submarine, is 18 meters long. It is powered by two nuclear engines.
