Naivedya is very important in the worship of Maa. Lord Narayana says, 'O Param Vidwan Devarshi Narada! This world is eternal. One who worships Bhagwati Jagdamba by taking birth in it, even if he is in dire straits, Mother Bhagwati protects him. Therefore a human being should worship the Goddess with devotion.' Lord Narayana says that on Pratipada Tithi, Bhagwati Jagadamba should be worshiped with cow ghee. Means offering cow's ghee in Naivedya by performing shodshopachara puja and giving that prasadi to Brahmin. Humans do not get diseases by doing this. Worshiping Goddess Bhagwati on the day of Dwitiya (Seeds) and offering sugar offerings and giving that prasadi to Brahmins gives long life to human beings.

By worshiping Mother Bhagwati on the Tritiya (third) day, offering milk in the Naivedya and giving it to the Brahmin, all human sufferings are destroyed. On the day of Chaturthi (Choth) offering Malpooda to the Goddess and giving it to a Brahmin does not cause any kind of harm due to the effect of untimely donation. By worshiping Bhagwati on the day of the Panchami Tithi and giving the Prasad to the Brahmin who has a banana offering to Bhagwati, the intellect of the seeker is developed. On the day of Ekadashi, Bhagwati is greatly pleased by offering curd to a Brahmin. On the day of Dwadashi, offering pooja to a Brahmin who has a paua bhog makes the seeker become a favorite of Bhagavati.

On the day of Teras, make an offering of gram to Bhagwati and give it to a Brahmin. Due to its influence, children are born. Hey Devarshi! On the fourteenth day, Lord Shankara is pleased with Bhagwati Jagadamba having sattu (companions) who gives to a Brahmin. Havan should be performed to please the Goddess. This Havan is the destroyer of all miseries.

Now according to the order, Dudhpak should be offered on Sunday, milk on Monday, bananas on Tuesday, butter on Wednesday, sugar on Thursday and sugar on Friday. Offering cow ghee as Naivedya on Saturday.
