Every word of the saint seemed like an arrow to Bapu

- In Bhalisabha, Apa got up with Hokli-Chalam in hand and roared that, O Mahatma! I give up this Hockley from today. I put water at your feet before Mahajan that we should not have any kind of addiction in life.

All Rashtrakesari Prangurus used to travel from village to village and give sermons, but at the same time, they tried to remove the deafness and similar problems in the society, and also played the role of a public teacher.

The Upashraya lecture hall was packed. Not only Jains but people of all castes used to come to listen to the lectures. He talked about getting rid of any addiction that wreaks financial and physical havoc. In the front row sat the distinguished courtiers of the entire area. Everyone knows that Bapu is very addicted to drinking Hokochalam. The big one is kept in the Durbar Garh and the small chalam is kept with him when he goes out with tobacco, sometimes it is late and the work is needed. Thus addiction to hookah and dependence on bonds was the biggest stumbling block in his life.

As if the saint was praising bravery, he asked, Father! What to do when you feel the urge to drink Hoka-Chalam? Darbar says, Ma'raj Hazar, leave a thousand work and run to kiss the chalam. Bapu, with your one voice, let all your servants and servants attend your service. Like Sorthi Singh, do you have to run towards Hockley with one of his longings?

Then the saint addresses the Dharma Parishad and says that addiction makes us slaves. After such a hobby becomes an addiction, the thought of giving it up slows down our self-confidence. Each and every word of the discourse felt like an arrow to Bapu. Those words were washing away Apa's cowardice with great speed without even wounding. This Mahatmaji called me the lion of Sorath. A surge of power woke up in Bapu. Will this Hockley find my honor in the soil?

Apa stood up with Hokli-chalam in his hand in Bhalisabha and shouted, O Mahatma! I give up this Hockley from today. I put water at your feet before Mahajan that we should not have any kind of addiction in life.

Kudos to Gurudev Kathad Darbar Kudos! After saying, he placed his hands on his head and gave blessings. At that time, people in Bhal-Nalkantha area were involved in various addictions. Addictions like gambling, tea, beedi, tobacco, stealing water, stealing women and hunting were indulged in. In this area, Munishree Santbalji and Ravi Shankar Maharaj in some areas of Saurashtra and Gujarat also freed people from addiction. Santbalji also carried out purification experiments like Satyagraha along the lines of Gandhi.

Saint Pujya Pramukhswami of Swaminarayan Sampraday reached Jamnagar. A friend of Sanghavi Sahib, the advocate of the temple trust, came to Pramukhswami with his son and said that he has become very addicted, what should be done? Swamiji says, at this age he is addicted, then when he is like you, will he be addicted a little? Then address the young man and say, I will not deny you addiction. As you age, you will have various hobbies. The dignitaries sitting there were stunned. Why does Swami say this! Everyone expected him to be persuaded not to do this. Addressing the young man, Swami further says that it is not for addiction, but my condition is that you can do addictions by following it and if you can't follow it, give up the addiction.

What is the condition of the young man? Swami says, you are allowed to indulge in such an addiction that there is no physical or financial harm at all. The young man often pondered. Then understand that I have no such addiction which does not cause such harm. The young man salutes Swami and says, I have realized my mistake. I give up addiction. Saint Prasannavadan blessed him.
