- Mumtaz, like every time, took off all her clothes and went naked to the bathroom to take a bath. This is what she used to do when she went to the hotel with the Nawab. Nawab packed his clothes in a polythene bag. Mumtaz mixed McDowell with Thumsup and drank it, so the Nawab even got a crushed sleeping pill in her peg.
Nawabali was a resident of Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh, came to Mumbai 30 years ago to earn a living and became a Mumbai resident.
In Mumbai, people have been living on the streets for years, but Nawabali's luck was good. He got a job in an export company shortly after coming to Mumbai. In no time, he became a skilled needlework craftsman and his salary also increased. However, gradually he thought of starting his own business and left his job and started his own factory by taking a place in Govandi. With his skills, he established his business and then started earning good income.
When Nawab Ali's financial condition improved, he married a girl named Rani Begum. Both had a very happy life. When the Rani gave birth to a son, the Nawab felt that heavenly happiness had entered his world.
As the Nawab's business expanded and his income increased, his mood began to change and gradually he became estranged from Rani and divorced her and married a girl named Kaiser. After the marriage, he pretended to be a Kaiser for some time but then this lustful man remembered Rani again and started seeing her again.
First, Kaiser came to know about the Nawab secretly meeting the Rani, but he was forced. So he did not oppose this matter so he also started spending his life together with Rani and satisfied his hunger with both Nawabali.
As Nawab grew older, his lust increased. One day he saw Mumtaz Begum and fell in love with her. Mumtaz was first married to Arif but divorced him and married a Hindu youth named Raju. She had a daughter from her marriage with Raju, but this daughter could not build a bond of love between the two and they separated again.
Mumtaz's mother used to work in a factory in Nawabali. Divorced, Mumtaz returned to her mother's house and then to earn a living, Mumtaz also started working in the Nawab's factory. Although Mumtaz was the mother of a daughter, her form was intact and, like Nawabali, she was filled with lust. When she met the Nawab, she became enamored with his money and then both of them went out to the lodge and satisfied the hunger of the flesh.
In those days, Nawab stopped the work of Jari and started the work of repairing and selling old motorcycles. Now his son had also become a good mechanic so he took over the business. Despite being busy with work, Nawabali kept meeting Mumtaz, but his mind was not satisfied, so he married Mumtaz and also bought a flat for her in Vashi.
At the time of marriage, Nawab Ali had told Mumtaz that she would stay with him during the day but would go to her Govandi's house at night. At that time, Mumtaz agreed and the two got married. The four months after the marriage passed in bliss as both were equally hungry and now there was no one to stop them. But then Mumtaz started insisting to stay the night with the Nawab and the Nawab did not listen to her. So Mumtaz got angry and went to her mother's house and both divorced.
Even after the divorce, Nawab's infatuation with Mumtaz did not diminish. And the two started meeting again and the physical relationship between the two was also established again. Mumtaz used to go out with him and the Nawab also spent a lot of money on her.
Nawab used to persuade Mumtaz to stay in his flat in Vashi but she did not believe and they used to fight over this. Finally, the Nawab allowed Mumtaz to take a flat wherever he wanted and both of them would even visit the flat.
But in the meantime Nawab Ali suddenly saw Mumtaz walking with her second husband Raju. When he asked Mumtaz about this, she said, "We are divorced, so who are you to stop me?" You have nothing to do with whoever I meet or hang out with!''
Nawabali was crazy about Mumtaz and had spent lakhs of rupees on Mumtaz, so he was hurt by Mumtaz's words and took a brutal decision. If Mumtaz is not mine, I will not let it happen to anyone. With that decision he made a plan.
Two days after this discussion, the Nawab called Mumtaz and invited him to meet at half past eleven in the morning. And talked about going to see the flat. Along with that Nawab bought many sleeping pills and crushed them in a box and kept it with him.
When Mumtaz arrived, she was wearing a black burqa over a brown Punjabi dress. Nawabali took Mumtaz to the Panvel Palace Lodge on the Mumbai-Puna road by placing him on a motorcycle. He parked the motorcycle and went up to the counter. Mumtaz had gone to the hotel with him many times before, so he was not surprised. Nawab wrote wrong name-address in the register and went to room no.203.
On reaching the room, the Nawab ordered two thumsup, McDowell No.1 quarter, papad, horn, and mutton and two rotis. Mumtaz, like every time, took off all her clothes and went naked to the bathroom to take a bath. This is what she used to do when she went to the hotel with the Nawab. Nawab packed his clothes in a polythene bag.
In a few minutes the waiter put away the food and drinks and the Nawab started making the peg. Mumtaz mixed McDowell with Thumsup and drank it, so the Nawab even got a crushed sleeping pill in her peg.
Within a few minutes, Mumtaz came from the bathroom and sat down and the Nawab very lovingly and cleverly handed her a glass of sleeping pills and he himself took another glass and started eating papad and horn while talking. Mumtaz started to take effect from the sleeping pills and she fainted and collapsed on the bed. White foam started coming out of his nose and mouth. Seeing that, the Nawab pressed a pillow over her face and Mumtaz died.
After killing Mumtaz, to disfigure her face, Nawab Ali cut off her nose and lower lip with a nail cutter so that no one would recognize her. He went to the bathroom and threw the cut meat into the latrine pot and flushed it. And he came back to the room after placing the bottle of sleeping pills on the bathroom window. He took the towel of the room and put it on Mumtaz and after making sure that there was no trace left around, he went out and after locking the room went downstairs and left with the motorcycle.
If Mumtaz did not reach home that day, her mother called the Nawab and asked, the Nawab said that she had gone to Indore. Then four days later Nawab filed a complaint in the police station that his ex-wife had run away with one lakh rupees. The Nawab showed great skill but could not survive.
It so happened that the next day at twelve o'clock in the afternoon, as usual, the lodge employee came to check the room. He knocked on the door of 203 but got no answer. So he called the manager. The manager also tried many times but got no response so he panicked and called the police.
Inspector Shinde came and knocked on the door but got no answer. So he asked for a duplicate key and as soon as the door opened with the key, everyone was stunned. A beautiful healthy woman of 30-35 years was lying on the bed. On it was a hotel towel. It was clear from it that there was no cloth on his body. She was dead and the blood from around her mouth was dried on a towel, indicating that the murder had taken place fifteen to twenty hours ago. E. Shinde and four other police officers searched the room but found no sign of the deceased's companion other than food and drink. A brown dress, ladies underwear, bra and a black veil came out of the polythene bag. There were no signs of beating on the naked body but the nose and lips were cut. So the police understood that this was done to avoid identification.
A small container was found above the bathroom window which was sent for chemical testing. Nawab had written the names of Suresh and Shaba in the register, after seeing which the police realized that this name-address was wrong. After panchnama, the body was sent for postmortem.
The identification of the body was necessary for the investigation to proceed. Seeing the deceased, it was known that she belonged to a Muslim family, but who was she? And where was it from? It was not known. The police did not give up. He sent the photo of the dead body to police stations like Mumbra, Kosa, Deonar, Govandi, Shivajinagar, Pydhuni, Vandra, Bhiwandi. A photo of the dead body was also shown on TV. But no address was found.
A few days later, when Mumtaz's mother filed a missing complaint at the Govandi police station, the police inspector became suspicious when she gave the description of Mumtaz and showed him a photo of Mumtaz's dead body. So his mother recognized him. Then he was taken to the hotel Panvel Palace and after showing all the belongings of Mumtaz, he recognized him. The police asked him that the girl was missing for so many days, why did she not file a complaint? Then he named Nawab Ali and talked about him.
The police called the Nawab to the police station and questioned him. First, on the basis of the police complaint lodged by the Nawab himself, he said that Mumtaz had run away with one lakh rupees from me. But there was no response from the third degree of police and he confessed his crime.
