Shefali's role as a sex worker?

- 'I had to gather a lot of courage to say yes to playing this character. After playing such a difficult and sensitive role, I have gained a lot of confidence as an actor.'

It is a risk for actors to step out of their comfort zone and play a role that they have not played before. Some people benefit from stepping out of their comfort zone and some don't. TV actress Shefali Jariwala has grabbed everyone's attention by playing the role of a heroine in the web series 'Ratri Ke Yatri (Season-2)'. The show stars Sharad Malhotra along with Shefali. In fact, the web series weaves five different stories of the Red Light Area.

In a recent interview, Jariwala spoke on various topics including her experience of playing a sex worker in 'Ratri Ke Yatri-2' and the reason behind accepting such a role. Know all that in Shefali's own words:

Reason for accepting the bold role: The biggest reason behind accepting the web series was our director Anil Kumar sir. By working with him, one of my dreams has come true.

Learned a lot from him. Secondly, I have now reached a stage in my career where I am hungry for good roles. When I was offered this role, I thought it was a perfect opportunity for me to step out of my comfort zone. Of course, I had to gather a lot of courage to agree to play such a character. After playing such a difficult and sensitive role, I have gained a lot of confidence as an actor.

Difficulty in getting into the character of a prostitute: It was difficult for me to realize the character of Rupjivini. A lot of preparation had to be done for that. For me to do justice to the character was to understand where the prostitutes come from and why they fall into prostitution. These women are very sexy and voluptuous and their attitude is quite bold. I met some sex workers, interacted with them. I saw that his life story is shocking. Society despises this neglected class and even today it is almost taboo to talk about sex workers. One thing I realized is that no one likes to be a sex worker, their circumstances drag them into the red light area. Now I have feelings for him. Honestly, I have become a better person after preparing for this role. Now I understand the feeling better.

Being a Bindas was tough : It was really tough for me to be a Bindas sex worker in front of so many people, understanding the nuances of the character. I was ready to give a shot on the first day, but as soon as the director said the action, I froze. Because one, it was a difficult character and secondly, I was doing this first project after staying at home for two years during the Corona period. I felt like I was standing in front of the camera for the first time. Well done to director Anil sir and my co-star Sharad Malhotra who came to my aid. Once I got into a rhythm everything went well.
