4 August is Friendship Day, Learn When and How to Get Started

Friendship Day is a special day for young people, they celebrate this day with their friends. Every year this day is celebrated on the first Sunday of August. This year, this day will be on August 4th. Thus, the currency of celebrating this day has come from abroad in India, but at present, the day is celebrated with great enthusiasm here. The craze for this day's celebration is the highest among children. They seem to be preparing for each other in advance, with gifts and belts for each other in advance.

People also celebrate the day with greetings cards and gifts. Wishing each other on social media and the day starts to celebrate. But people do not know how and why they started celebrating this day.

The start of Friendship Day

The American Congress is believed to have started celebrating this day in 1935. It was also announced that the day would be celebrated on the first Sunday of August. The practice continues till this year.

World Friendship Day

The World Friendship Day Crusade proposed to be celebrated internationally on July 30, 1958 in the United Nations. It is then formally celebrated in some countries, the United Nations announced on April 27, 2011 in the General Assembly to celebrate this day each year. This day is celebrated on different dates in different countries. In some countries, July 20 is celebrated on July 30 in some countries. But in India it is celebrated on the first Sunday of August.
