Security researcher Laxman Muthaiya, a resident of Chennai, has discovered an error in the Instagram app. He has received a reward of Rs. The prize company awarded it to the Bug Bounty Program. It is important to note that earlier, Muthaiya also discovered a defect in Facebook for which he was given a reward of Rs 21.60 lakh from Facebook.
Because of the mistake Muthaiya has discovered on Instagram, anyone can hack his account without the permission of another user. This was exactly the fault found on Facebook. Facebook has however rectified its shortcomings.
Muthaiya has written a blog detailing this. He wrote that the security team of Facebook and Instagram had fixed his shortcomings. He has also been given a $ 10,000 prize.
According to Muthaiya, on Instagram, he found that a single device ID could be used to ask for reset codes for multiple passwords of different users. That is, it could be hacked by changing the password of multiple users' accounts with a single device. Facebook has also praised this work in writing.
