Two Kolkata committees have used 50kg of gold and 110kg of silver in the decoration of the goddess statues. The organizers of the Satish Mitra Square Durga Puja have used 50kg of gold leaf for their vehicle Lion and Mahisura. The gold used for the decoration is worth Rs 20 crore. A member of the worship committee says that the 13-foot-tall statue of Durga has been decorated with pure gold leaf, from foot to head. This is the most expensive statue of this year.

Fashion designer Agnimitra Pale designed a special saree

In the year 2017, the statue of Goddess Durga was decorated with a 22k gold saree. This saree was designed by fashion designer Agnimitra Pale. Another one is coming to make jewelry for Durga mother statue using 110kg of silver by a worship committee. In addition, the mother's clothes will also be made of silver.
