For 70 years, a Christian song that Gandhi loved in the Republic Day Parade was playing the song 'Abide with Me'. Vandemataram's tunes and shankhanad have been included in the parade band for the first time as part of giving priority to Indian tunes.
In the Scottish poet Henry Francis Light III, the English prayer 'Abide with me' was composed. He died the same year, but this poem, created a few months before his death, became his most famous and popular work. Born in 6, the poet became known for his prayer songs. Apart from 'Abide with Me', such works as 'Jesus, I cross my take', 'Prize, My Soul, the King of Heaven' are still part of the church's prayers.
William Henry, an English-born English musician, composed this song around પછી, and his popularity increased. William Henry was also known for his music in prayer. From time to time the song was composed by other composers too, but only William's music has become more accepted. King George V of England loved this song. The song's popularity crossed the frontiers of England in the early 7th century.
During World War I the song became a military band. Originally, it was a prayer, so soldiers of the army used this song to thank God during the time of war. The soldiers of England used to sing this song in the evening at a program called 'Watch setting' to thank God. The song, which was popularized among British soldiers, became an integral part of the army wherever the British monarch was. In the same way 'Abide with Me' was attached to the Indian Army.
The Indian army had reason to retain this song in a military band after independence. The thing was that this song was one of Gandhiji's favorite songs. Narasimha Mehta's 'Vaishnava Jan' was Gandhiji's favorite hymn, as was the case with English song 'Abide With Me'. Gandhi loved this composition because the words of the prayer were heartbreaking. The Indian Army also made the song into a military tune, as Gandhi loved it.
For the first time in the military parade on Republic Day on the 5th, 'Abide with Me' was ringing. Thereafter, in the parade of the Republic Day, the chorus of this Christian prayer sounded irresistible. For what is called a beating retreat ceremony, thirty-three tunes echo each year from the Indian army that chooses 4-5 tunes. The army's three-wing republic plays various tunes in the military band during the Beating Retreat Ceremony parade held from January 7 to January 8, which included the prayer 'Abide with Me' that Gandhi loved each year.
The military band 'play list' has been updated after 7 years as part of giving India's traditional tunes a military parade. For the first time, 'Vande Mataram' and 'Shanknad' have been included in the parade tunes. Now, instead of English prayers like 'Abide with me' every year, Shankhanad will end Republic Day.
The Rajpath in Delhi has now become famous for the parade. The parade, held for a few hours at 3am, concludes January 5th along with the beating Retreat Serum. However, for the first five years, the parade was held at a place called Irvine Stadium (now Dhyanchand Stadium), not at Rajpath. At that time the name of the highway was Kingsway.
On an annual basis, around 5 lakh people are organized around the Rajpath to watch the parade.
They were given gun salute by the size of different princely states in the monarchy. The biggest salute was 3 guns. There are no longer concessions, but the tradition of delivering three cannons after the national anthem is preserved when the President arrives to participate in the parade.
As we set off in front of the TV, the parade was to be seen at eight-nine in the morning. But all who want to attend have to arrive at Rajpath at midnight. Preparation has been going on for months already.
The main attraction of the parade is the arsenal of ammunition, tanks, missiles, etc. For this, a special temporary camp is made near India Gate. Military material is collected from all over the country. Each weapon is checked multiple times before being presented at the parade. In this way, all the soldiers from all wings of the participating forces in the parade have to undergo a four-stage investigation.
The speed of the tablo vehicle presented at the parade is usually five kilometers. This time, there were proposals for 3 tables, out of which the government has selected 5.
Chinook and Apache helicopters of US-made helicopters will also be participating in the parade for the first time.
For the first time, the parade will be led by female officer Captain Tania Shergill. Captain Shergill performs duty in the Signal Corps at Jabalpur.
The government spends big money behind the parade. For example, a budget of Rs 3 crore was allocated in this regard.
Hospitality of the Republic of India
Guests honored at the first parade were Indonesian President Sukarno, Prime Minister Nehru, Home Minister Sardar Patel. A huge replica of India's royal icon appears on the back.
India has been celebrating Republic Day since 7. Since that year, it has been a tradition for a head of a country to be a guest of India on that day. Except for a few years, this practice has continued. As in 1 and 2, no head was invited. The purpose behind the tradition is very obvious. During the parade, the head of the country (in some exceptions, the senior leader instead of the head of the country) may get a good introduction to India's defense strength and why India is called a country of unity in diversity. Another benefit is to improve relations with that country.
As the head of one country becomes a guest, other countries will also be tempted to forge closer ties with India. In this way, sitting in the chair of the parade for an hour and a half in the head of a country brings a lot of interest to India. The head of the opposition also gets special honors and a new chapter begins. India's hospitality is gaining global fame at that time.
Indonesia's Prime Minister Sukarno was called as a guest at the first parade after independence. Then in the 5th, Indonesia's President Sushilo Bambag became a guest. Some interesting experiences have also been reported during the tradition of seventy years. For example, the then French President of France Nicholas Sarkozy was the guest of India.
Along with him was his girlfriend Carla Burney. At that time, Karla was not the president's wife but a sweetheart, so it was a big problem for India to honor you. The honor of being the wife of a foreign president cannot be honored and India's hospitality is less than welcomed as a general guest! Both India's foreign policy and hospitality were to be tested. But at the last minute, Sarkozy resolved the confusion by deciding to come alone.
Pakistan, which was liberated one day earlier than India (August 8th), has also received this honor in the past. On 7th, Pakistan's Governor General Malik Ghulam Mohammad was the guest of India. Rana Abdul Hamid, Pakistan's Minister of Food and Agriculture, became the guest of honor on the 5th day of the decade. Of course, such a move does not improve India-Pakistan relations, it is different.
Britain's Queen Elizabeth II, who was once a slave to India, has also visited India's parade in the 5th. Then it was Britain's turn in the 5th, but then the Prime Minister John Major, not the Queen, arrived. Elizabeth was the first woman to be a guest at the British crown. Then another female leader's turn came in the 6th. Then Yingluck Shinawatra, the 7-year-old Prime Minister of Thailand, was the guest of India. Incidentally, India also had a female president Pratibha Patil.
Bhutan and France's chiefs have been decorated with chairs for the highest number of four times. The kings of Bhutan have arrived in 1, 2, 3 and 4. 4, 3, 4, and 4 are the four heads of France. It also includes Jacques Chirac, the world famous president of France. Chirac came to India as Prime Minister of France in 8 and India as President in 7th. Nelson Mandela (South Africa, 2), Vladimir Putin (Russia, 2), who became known as the international leader, has also witnessed the parade.
In 7, the head of the whole ASEAN was called instead of a single country. A total of 5 countries leaders were present as the chief guest. It was a showcase of India's power. India set a new record by calling on the president of the United States. Because Delhi is on high alert during the Republic Day. At the same time, the US president comes, so he has to strengthen security. But Oba came in and enjoyed the hospitality.
Music of the Indian Military Band performing at the parade
There is an Indian Army education institute in Madhya Pradesh. The institute has a music department - the military music wing. The country's first Army Chief, K.M. Under Kariyappa's guidance, a music school was opened in Madhya Pradesh from October 1st-5th. The military music wing meets the need for trained musicians for all military bands in all three wings of the military.
Thus, training was provided to the soldiers even during British rule, but after independence it got Indian form. According to Indian tradition, the tunes were chosen. Military band tunes were formed on the basis of folk songs, choruses.
Much of the fame for the military band is attributed to Major Roberts, Harold Joseph, LB Gurung, General Nirmal Chand and Major Nasir Hussain. He initially composed the tunes of the Indian Army.
There are four bands in the Indian Army. Land, air, naval and paramilitary. There are two sections of the Army Band: pipes and drums. Being trained in the music of different regiments represents the tune based on the identity and culture of its regiment.
The Indian Army has three brass bands, 3 pipes and a drum band. There are 3 musicians to guide the military band and seven high officials are overseen. When there is a general military band, there are 3 musicians involved. If there was only a pipe band it would include 3 musicians. The Indian Navy team is among the best military bands in Asia. Navy tunes also include Vaishnavjan's call to him.
The Beating Retreat Ceremony was also featured in the Guinness Book of World Records. In one concert, four musicians recorded the introduction of a military band. All three wings perform tunes together at the ceremony.
All jaha se se achchha, kadam kadam badhye ja, vande mataram, countries or sartaj india, the flag ka rakshak, the Indian Ocean, the parade of Indian army personnel parades.
