Ahmedabad's 5-year-old Vivek Shah has achieved the achievement of being the first Gujarati cyclist to qualify for Race Across America, ranked among the world's challenging cycling races. Vivek Shah made history in the race qualifying event in Goa in the qualifying event of the USA in just 5 hours instead of 5 km.
Now they are preparing for the completion of the 5-kilometer race in the United States in June in 5 days. Only three Indians have achieved the feat of completing the ultra-cycling race so far, and Vivek Shah is now dreaming of becoming the first and fourth racer in Gujarat to finish the race.
Only three Indians qualified this year
Vivek Shah, who is a chartered accountant by profession, said that only three cyclists from India have qualified in this race for the last 3 years. Vivek Shah along with Bharat Pannu of Bangalore and Kabir Raichur of Mumbai. To qualify for the race, Vivek completed the 3,000km distance in 3 hours in the third week of October.
A month later, he completed the distance of one thousand miles (5 km) in 3 hours. Recently, he achieved the confidence of completing the 5 km distance from Ahmedabad to Atari border in 5 hours and 5 minutes. Earlier, Vivek Shah had achieved the feat in the PBP race in France in a distance of 5 km in 5 hours.
Race Across America: 5 km on average in 2 hours
Talking about the challenge of Race Across America, Vivek Shah said, The race, which began in the 8th, starts from the southwestern coast of America and ends at the northeast coast. The route of the race takes place in 4 states. The Sierra, Rocky, and Alapachian Mountains climb a total of 1,3,3 feet, and the United States crosses the Colorado, Mississippi, Missouri, and Ohio rivers and into the desert area. It has to cover a distance of 5 miles in 5 days. On an average, you have to cut a distance of 3 km in 3 hours, which includes the cyclist's leisure time.
