Kavita Krishnamurti: Through her voice she has been raving for four decades

For more than four decades, singer-songwriter Kavita Krishnamurthy has been swaying music enthusiasts with her voice.

Hundreds of songs including his 'Bol Chudiya ....' (Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gum-1) have become popular.

Kavita Krishnamurthy says that my first song was with Lata Mangeshkar. Of course, Bengali was that song. And his composer was Hemant Kumar. I sang this song in 3. I believe Lata Mangeshkar has always been a blessing to me since that time. I told them they were lucky for me. I am here because of his blessings. I have been working in this industry for the last 2 years. However I have never competed with anyone and do not want to do so in the future. I have no interest in singing a song that gets sung by seven singers and eventually gets selected over a single singer. I want to evolve as a singer. I don't want to be a competitor.

It is worth mentioning here that Kavita Krishna Murthy along with her husband and two children perform live in different countries of the world. Even so, he says that I still get worried before my program starts today. The solution, however, was shown by her husband. Kavita Krishnamurthy says that once Lata Mangeshkar also told me that before my live performance I was terrified. The poem adds that while solving my problem, my husband once told me to speak Ganapati verse before starting the program. Ganapati will prove to be your best friend. I obeyed them. And from that time until today, I didn't have to panic before performing.

Since the entire family of singers are associated with music, they also talk about music at the dining table. The poem says that it is often the case that my children do not like the song that my children like. There may be arguments between them about this. But ultimately we are bound by the music formula. She further says that my husband is the chief artistic director for our programs. My background is Bollywood. My daughter Bindu writes songs in English and my son is a violinist. My granddaughter comes to us at concerts.

However, my husband is always standing behind me. My song 'Nimbuda Nimbuda' is very dear to him.
