Misleading information and rumors have become a concern for the masses and the government in times of smart phones and cheap data packs. Forwarded message on WhatsApp has also become a tool for spreading rumors. WhatsApp is constantly controlling the forwarded message. The company has been working on a feature for a long time, allowing users to control the authenticity checking of all messages received.
According to media reports WhatsApp is going to test a feature. With this feature, users can search the message on Google. That being said, this feature will be for frequently forwarded messages. A search icon will appear in front of the forwarded message. Tapping this icon opens a dialog box that says Do you want to search this message on the web? By doing so, the message will be uploaded to Google.
According to the report, this new feature of WhatsApp has been spotted on Android's latest beta version 2.20.94. Last year, however, this type of icon was found on WhatsApp. Which was found in the receiving message. This feature was spotted in Android 2.19.73. It didn't rollout though.
