Mumbai, April 1, 2020, Wednesday
As the name of Dharavi falls, it is immediately remembered that Asia's largest slum area in Mumbai is on the horizon. Spread over an area of 613 hectares, 1.5 million people live, including laborers, diligence and small businesses. There have been a total of 320 cases in Maharashtra while 169 corona-positive cases have been reported in Mumbai. Regarding April 1, the Dharavi slum area is considered to be of serious concern as the area is extremely dense, making it more likely to transition than other areas.
Until now, Kora's transition was focused on tourists traveling abroad, but now it is also seen among locals. Corona transitions have also been observed for people who have had a history of traveling abroad for some time. Lockdown is in force in the country to break this pattern of corona virus infection, but cases of Corona virus have been increasing for the last two days.
According to the information obtained, the coronary positive patient of Dharavi is 56 years old and under treatment. In addition, 10 people from the family have been quarantined. The patient's place of residence has been sealed as part of a vigil. In India, a total of 1932 Corona-positive cases have been reported while 55 have died. Dharavi's literacy rate is 69 percent which is higher than any slum in India. The villagers are from rural areas of different regions of India. The area lies between Mumbai's two main suburban railway lines, the Western and Central Railways. To the west of Dharavi is Mahim and Bandra, while to the north lies the sweet river. The sweet river meets the Arabian Sea via Mahim Creek. During the rainy season, it is suffering from floods due to poor sewerage and drainage facilities.
