The growing case of corona virus in Gharavi has made checking intimate. Fruit and vegetable shops and lorries have been ordered closed in sensitive areas. Dharavi's literacy rate is 69 percent which is higher than any slum in India. The villagers are from rural areas of different regions of India. The area lies between Mumbai's two main suburban railway lines, the Western and Central Railways. To the west of Dharavi is Mahim and Bandra, while to the north lies the sweet river. The sweet river meets the Arabian Sea via Mahim Creek. During the rainy season, it is suffering from floods due to poor sewerage and drainage facilities.

Maharashtra has a total of 1365 cases of corona virus transmission, the highest in Mumbai. Coronary transmission in the slum area, such as Dharavi, is similar to the alarm bell.
