Jainacharya Vijayendrasuri Maharaj, who attracted scholars from all over the world to Jainism and Jain history, had a wonderful personality. With an outspoken, majestic voice, accurate statement and impressive mukhavind, the person in front of Vijayendrasuri was stunned. Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru considered him a guru. Nehruji says that the vision of understanding history and the readiness to say it requires neutrality is found in Vijendrasuri. President Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishna met him from time to time.
Principal is originally from Punjab. He was born in V.S. Done in 19 Sankhatra his village. The publisher of his biography notes that the village is so ancient that it dates back to the Mahabharata period. Dr. Huan Sang from China also came to this village and he also appreciates the antiquity of this village. Born into a liberal and reformist family, Acharya's original name was Budhamal. Famous film actor Rajendra Kumar happens to be his nephew.
Interest in learning from an early age and the teachers also got along well so the start was good. At that time, there was a Muslim teacher who translated the Bhagwat Gita into Urdu! At that time, Jain monks also used to walk around their village. What is the strength of being introduced to a Jain sadhu should be understood here: It introduced a Jain sadhu Premvijyaji.
This sage belonged to the community of Atmaramji Maharaj. Budhamal liked his introduction. He learned a lot about Jainism. At that time it happened to Budhamal that I have to take initiation from this saint. That did not happen immediately. But after some time he ran away and went to Prem Vijayji in Delhi and took initiation. But he did not get along with Prem Vijayji, so he came to Gujarat alone. Punjabi khamir and kshatriya khumari gave personality to his personality. He came to Gujarat and met Muni Dharma Vijayaji.
Muni Dharma Vijayaji went on to become famous as Kashiwala Vijayadharmasuri. This was such a virtuous Acharya Maharaj that the monks and worldly disciples who were with him became selected scholars and gained international fame. The scholars formed under the hands of Vijayadharmasuri are still world famous today. This has not been seen anywhere else in the last century.
The time of Shri Dharmasuriji Kashiwala was such that there were many famous Acharya Maharajas at that time. Vijaya Dharmasuriji chose two things at that time. (1) To wander where special Jainacharyas do not wander. (2) To work in the field of knowledge. The choice was so harsh that many of them had to go through hardships. But this talented Acharya Maharaj traveled in that field and achieved great success.
The school he established in Kashi and the school he established in Shivpuri became famous all over the world. From both these schools he met world famous monks and worldly disciples.
