Complex system:
Examples of complex systems are the body's immune system, the ecosystem, the business cycle system of the meaning of tornadoes. One of the main features of a complex system is that it cannot be predicted. When the body becomes infected, the body makes antibodies against it and protects the body. The decision to make these antibodies is 'automatic', we do not know who takes it and when, it is a matter outside our conscious mind.
Complex systems have many subsystems and also have subsystems. All these subsystems interact with each other and also communicate with the whole system. Economics is also a complex system in which markets, financial institutions, manufacturers, distributors, consumers, intermediaries, wholesalers, retailers, etc. constantly interact in which every player of the market (customer, manufacturer, distributor, bank, etc.) influences the market and the market Are affected.
Self Organizing Systems:
Out of this totally chaotic situation arises an order we call the market system which is a surprising phenomenon. Even in a company, an informal social system emerges without a plan. It is a surprising phenomenon that even in the stock market, an order (prices of stocks and bonds) arises out of the hustle and bustle. Such phenomena are also found in nature called self-organizing system.
Many parts of a complex system combine with each other to create new characteristics. We call this emerging characteristic the Emergency System. We don't know how the Emergency emerges, only a glimpse. We do not know exactly how Homo sapiens emerged from the fearless man 50,000 years ago.
It was the internal biochemical process of the human body that was responsible for the changes in the external world or the proportions (ratios) of both. It may be known in the future. One of the characteristics of a complex system is that it creates new features that are not present in its parts. E.g. All the parts and organs come together to create vitality in human beings through the interactions and cooperation between them.
No one party or part has the concept of a person's self hood. The whole biological system is, after all, the masterpiece of biochemistry behind the operation of neurochemicals. In these millions of neurobiological processes, with the emergence of a living body, there is no evidence that the soul has even had an emergency. It is a delusion or speculation. Emergence is the process by which a new feature (new patent) or new structure emerges from an old system.
The onset of cancer in the body is an emergency system and according to the knowledge of our study, we do not know when it will emerge or happen. Complexity theory, part of which is the emerging system, has struck a chord with one of our beliefs. It is in such a way that we can gain an understanding of the whole by dividing any whole into its parts and understanding each part.
In English this is called the reductionist approach. Reduction means understanding any system or idea differently by dividing it into different parts. The story of the elephant and the seven blind men we have there can be considered harsh criticism with a ‘reductionist’ approach. The elephant is the epitome of totality. The elephant is a metaphor for seeing the whole.
Management and uncertainty:
Complexity theory is being used in strategic management. Some of the concepts of complexity theory seem to be useful for how any company can adapt to its constantly changing external environment. Complexity theory is useful because the management system of a company or any organization is also complex and its various departments aim to achieve continuous coordination with each other.
Moreover, every system is constantly battling uncertainty as vehicle behavior is constantly changing. The external environment is changing a lot during the current epidemic of Kovid. It is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving the post.
Some of the points of complexity theory are as follows: (1) The prediction of complex system is not possible. (2) Many variables are interrelated in a complex system. (2) Emergency system arises from complex system. (2) Some systems are self-organizing. (2) Adaptation strategy is best against it. (2) The CEO has to cultivate a holistic point of view. Not to cultivate a reductionist point of view.
Complexity theory of management:
Adopting complexity theory in management is a difficult task. Management likes to work in an environment of accuracy. Thus management thinking is considered 'senior' while at the root of complexity or chaos theory is uncertainty. It has all the thinking non-linear which is why it has been named as Complex Theory Management. Predictable. A butterfly fluttering its wings in Tokyo can cause a storm in the United States.
This is called butterfly effects.) This means that a small incident in one system can affect many systems and create a catastrophe.
Complex Adaptive System:
The CEO of every company that survives in an environment of cowardly uncertainty has to look at his company as a complex adaptive system. A balance has to be struck between stability and flexibility.
The old rules of the game are to be discarded. Companies have to be prepared to change the rules of their game just as cricket thinkers saved the five-day boring test in the game of cricket by creating a fast game of ODIs and T20s.
Many companies have started working for this years ago as they have changed from a bureaucratic model to a participatory model. Some companies have broken down departmental walls as Jack Welsh General Electric did. This boundaryless organization was formed in the company.
Many companies are now becoming learning organizations and many companies have even formed leaderless groups. Management has to encourage its staff for non-linear thinking. Moreover, knowledge management has replaced routine management in progressive companies. The method of managing project management has also changed. The idea of leaderless groups and 'self-organizing systems', which are an important part of complexity theory, will become more prevalent in the near future.
