The magician of seeds.

Jaiprakash Singh of Tandia village near Rajatalab on B Naras-Allahabad road has no degree in agricultural science, but has so far developed 30 varieties of rice and other grains, 150 varieties of wheat and 30 varieties of pulses. Jayaprakash Singh, who received the President's Award in 2006 and 2007, has studied only up to standard nine.

Wandering was his hobby. The people of the house considered him a vagabond, but Jayaprakash wanted to do something special, but he did not know the direction of the work.

One day his wanderlust took him to the fields. Here his eye fell on a wheat plant among some crops. The wheat plant had many more grains and looked better than the other surrounding plants. From here, his journey of seed research began.

Jaiprakash Singh started reading about how to get good seeds. During this time he asked experienced elders. He gave information about his traditional method of selecting good seeds. Also got in-depth information about the method of sowing good seeds and also got knowledge about the life cycle of seeds. At this time he found out that in earlier times the farmer never bought seed for cultivation, but kept good seed from his own crop for the next crop. When Jayaprakash Singh started this work, he faced many struggles.

Staying away from family as well as hearing harsh criticism from people, but they kept working with their goal. He says he immersed himself in the work regardless of people's criticism and it proved to be a blessing for him. Today, Jayaprakash Singh, a father of two daughters and two sons, is a successful and respected farmer in Tandia village.

Today many government officials come to see him and take away many varieties of his bean. Agricultural institutes are conducting research on these seed varieties. Many officials advise him to start a seed business with multinational companies, but Jayaprakash Singh wants to reach out to more and more farmers in the country and help in higher production.

They give seeds to the farmers and sign a document that they will give to other farmers at the same price. The aim is to get seeds to the small and poor farmers at a reasonable price. Government G.M. Gives importance to seeds, but he should understand that the future of the country lies in the protection of native seeds.

G.M. The price of a kilo of seeds is three hundred rupees per bus, while these seeds are available at thirty to forty rupees a kilo. Jaiprakash Singh provides seeds to one million farmers in seven states of India. It seeks to protect farmers and crops from expensive seeds, chemicals and pesticides.

Jaiprakash Singh has found a way to produce more crops from indigenous seeds with the traditional method, so that farmers come to him for help.

One seed of wheat developed by them yields 2 quintals per hectare. The variety of rice which is ready in 150 to 180 days is ready in 120 days. They say that the hybrid wheat stalk grows two to two and a half feet high, while the stalk grown from its seeds grows nine to twelve feet high and the bread made from it tastes different.

Bread made in the morning stays fresh and soft till night. They mix cow dung, cow urine and jaggery in water and use it in the field. Uses pottery for seeds. He has also created a seedbank for the maintenance and protection of all this. He has also discovered new varieties of rye, chillies and tomatoes.

Twelve percent more iron is found in their seeds. They say test the seeds, sow and see the result. Jaiprakash Singh, known as the seed magician and recipient of the Plant Genome Award, is delighted to see farmers' farms thrive on organically grown seeds.

Advocates for furthering the make-in-India model by developing indigenous seeds. They believe that this is my contribution to the progress of the country. Everyone needs to work for the progress of their country. Agricultural products should be exported rather than imported.
