The glass is transparent through which light rays pass through it so it can be seen through the glass. Glass is a common thing but it has many uses. Glass of the same thickness is used in many tools, but if the surface is slightly altered, it can be used.
A ray of light travels in a straight line. Also enters in a straight line through the glass but comes out a little crooked. The rays passing through the transparent medium are slightly curved. If the surface of the glass is raised in the middle, the rays of light become refracted and collect at one point. Such a spherical glass is called a lens.
The round glass protruding from the middle is called convex lens and the thin but protruding glass from the middle is called concave glass. These two types of mirrors are also made. Our eyes also have lenses.
Magnifying glass is convex glass from which the object looks larger.
Lenses are most commonly used in telescopes and microscopes. Many lenses of different thicknesses are used. The lens itself plays a major role in the camera.
A thick lens with a rough pattern is called a cranel. It is a set of small lenses that emit a cascade of light. Car lights have cranel lenses.
It is measured according to the thickness of the lens. The size of the lens reflects how far it reflects.
