The doctor treating her advised her to take some brandy to help her fall asleep and Meena Kumari became addicted to alcohol. His financial situation became so bad that he did not even have the money to pay the hospital bills.

Vimi

One of the hit actresses of Bollywood, Vimi started her career with BR Chopra's Hamraz. There was a time when the producers seemed to line up at his door. At that time, she was charging Rs 3 lakh for a film. Yet many of his films flop and a financial crisis befalls him. It was time for him to sell Juhu's bungalow and settle in a suburb of Mumbai.
