Ancient culture of Lothal


Natural disasters, such as earthquakes and floods, sometimes cause large and small towns to collapse. It is found years later in excavations. From these are found objects such as houses, walls, utensils, roads, toys, coins, weapons, etc. which are known as ancient relics.

Similar ancient relics are found in Lothal near the Gulf of Khambhat. Lothal is located in Dholka taluka, 60 km from Ahmedabad. The town design of Lothal was wonderful. The roads were straight and wide and met at right angles to each other. There was also a well, bath and sewerage system. A huge dock has also been found in Lothal so it is said to have been a bustling port at one time. Besides, stone beads, clay toys and metal utensils have also been found there. Seeing all this, it seems that this culture will be very developed and the life of the citizens will be happy.
