In the same way that the tradition of making sequels of successful Hindi films continues, the practice of making sequels of popular serials is gaining momentum on the small screen. In recent times, serials like 'Sathiya-2', 'Pratigya-2', 'Kuch Rang Pyaar Ke Aise Bhi-2' have come out. And now a new season of 'Sacred Relationship' is also coming. But the question here is whether all these sequels will be able to work magic like its original show?
Analysts say that the trend of making sequels, big or small, has been booming for a long time. So far a number of TV Has become a sequel to the series. Some of them have succeeded while some have failed. However, even at the present stage, viewers are choosing many sequels. The sequel of Ram Kapoor and Sakshi Tanwar's popular serial 'Bade Achche Lagte Hain' is also coming. In fact, serial creators are more inclined to recall their popular shows. But so far very few show sequels have been a success. If we talk about 'Pratigya-2', the original serial 'Mann Ki Awaaz Pratigya' made in the year 2006 with artists like Pooja Gore, Arhan Bahl, Anupam Shyam was ruling the hearts of the viewers for three years. But the sequel, which started in March this year, will be rolled out soon after viewers give it a go.
He further said that Shahir Sheikh and Erica Fernandes' serial 'Kuch Rang Pyaar Ke Aise Bhi' which started a while back is not getting wide response like the original film.
Only time will tell how long the show will last and whether viewers will be interested in it. But the sequel of the 2012 serial 'Behad' did not get the expected success. Ashish Chaudhary and Shivin Narang were brought in the story of 'Maya', i.e. Jennifer Wingate. Something similar happened to 'Sanjeevani-2'. The successful show of the year 2007 'Sanjeevani-2' also happened. The successful show 'Sanjeevani' of the year 2007 was rebooted in the year 2013 with artists like Surabhi Chandna and Namit Khanna.
Actors like Mohnish Bahl and Gurdeep Kohli from the previous season were also included. But this season the spectators did not like it and only in six months the curtain was drawn on it. In the same way, the sequel of 'Kasauti Zindagi Ki', which gained unparalleled popularity, also got Jakaro. Even actors like Erica Fernandes and Parth Samathana in the sequel did not manage to keep the audience hooked again.
However, the story was new in the second season of 'Is Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon' and the viewers were interested in it. But his third season did not bear fruit as the serial creators repeatedly tried to milk the milking cow. The same thing happened with the sequel of the very popular serial 'Dia Aur Bati Hum' 'Tu Suraj Main Saanj Piya'.
So far, sequels like 'Behad-2', 'Sanjeevani-2', 'Is Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon-2', 'Punarvivah-2', 'Brahmarakshas-2' have hit the headlines. Analysts say the biggest challenge facing any sequel is to live up to the standards of the original series. Viewers compare the sequel to the original show. In such a situation, even a small weak point can distract the viewers from the sequel. Moreover, if the new season is presented with new artists, it is natural that those artists will also be compared.
In such a situation, it is not easy to capture the image of the actor or actress who has become popular in the minds of the viewers. The success of the sequel requires that the level of the second season be a handful higher than every aspect of the original show.
