- Eye oyster, distance pearl-Acharya Shri Vatsalyadeep Suriji

Madavad is a city. Zaveriwad is the area. Tamarind pol is a Jain resort. Upashraya is flooded with devout devotees. It is about 9 o'clock in the morning. Gurudev's discourse is going on in Upashraya. People listen and wave. By immersing oneself in the Sarita of Dharma flowing word by word of Gurudev, all are liberated. No one knows where time is slipping. Gurudev's discourse was completed.

Listening to the request of the people, Guruvar resumed his speech.

But the patience of the people was amazing. Saying, 'O Gurudev, keep your discourse intact, do not stop.'

The great monk laughed.

He finished the discourse. People didn’t take the name of getting out of there.

That great monk was Pujya Acharyasri Ajit Sagarsurishwarji Maharaj. The great speaker of Jainism. The great writer of Jain literature and the great poet who covered the art and culture of Gujarat.

One hundred and fifty years ago today, devotees used to come out like kidiyara to listen to the discourse of Shri Ajit Sagarsurishwarji. The charm of the speech of Shri Ajit Sagarsurishwarji with his tall and strong body, graceful face was unique. With sweet and melodious voices they would chant hymns, explaining the essence of it. People listen to it and sway. Everyone is very happy with the essence of religion. Shri Ajit Sagarsurishwarji was the supreme Guru devotee. He was the first disciple of Param Pujya Yoganishtha Acharya Shri Buddhisagarsurishwarji. The story of this Guru-disciple meeting is thrilling.

Shri Ajit Sagarsurishwarji was born Patel. There is a village called Nar near Petlad in Kheda district. It is their hometown. Patel lives in Nar village in the name of Lallubhai. His wife's name is Sonbai. Lallubhai's vast farming and lending business. Very happy to eat. He had a son born there. It is the fifth day of Posh Sudi of Samvat 12. Named Ambalal. Ambalal had a shrewd intellect. Many Jain monks and nuns of the local sect visit Nar village. Lallubhai and his family serve the monks and nuns very much. Ambalal also likes the sleep of saints. Going to them, Ambalal studied religion. Gained knowledge of Sanskrit and Prakrit languages. At the age of fourteen, he wanted to be baptized. He was initiated on Shravan Sudi 5th of Samvat 12. He himself was a local monk. The local sect does not believe in idolatry.

At that time he was in Ahmedabad, in the morning when Amrishiji was passing through Manek Chowk, he was coming in front of Shri Buddhisagarji, famous as a yogi. Both know each other. At that time, when Amrishiji came up with the idea, he said to Shri Buddhisagarji: 'You are very wise, prove to me now that there is idolatry in Jain scriptures.'

Mr. Buddhisagarji laughed. He said, 'Let me prove my idolatry, but only on the condition that you become my disciple.' Mr. Amrishiji also laughed. Says, 'You explain such a big truth and I don't believe that why not become your disciple? I will always be your disciple. '

Shri Budhisagarji lovingly took him by the hand and brought him to the upashraya of Amli Pol. By showing the lessons of Jainagamo, he proved that idolatry is scriptural. Shri Amrishiji became his disciple at that moment. The year of Vikram Samvat 12.

He was the first disciple of Shri Buddhisagarji Maharaj. Named Ajit Sagarji. Shri Buddhisagarji Maharaj had only three disciples before him but the talent of Ajit Sagarji Maharaj was such that he was considered as the chief among his disciples.
