Delhi's beautiful yet cursed Agrasen's Vav

De Shani's capital New Delhi is known for its glorious history and cultural heritage. The city contains many historical monuments. Agrasen's Vav (Vavdi) in Connaught Place, a prosperous area of ​​Delhi, is counted among the top ten cursed places in India. It is also known as 'Agrasen (Ugrasen) Ki Bawli'. This Vav is located on Haley Road near Jantar Mantar. It is protected by the Government of India as per Archaeological Survey of India and Remains Act 19. In 2016, the Indian Postal Department also issued postage stamps on Agrasen's Vav. The Vav has become more popular since some scenes from the popular Bollywood film PK directed by Aamir Khan were played in the Vav. According to a map of the National Archives of India, the monument was erected by the British government in the 19th century and was listed as 'Ogar Sen Ki Bowley'. The name 'Ugrasen Ki Bawli' is written on the inscription outside Vav.

Agrasen's Vav is a 30 meter long and 15 meter high well with 104 steps. It is believed to have been built during the Mahabharata period. It was later renovated by the Agrawal community. This renovation was done in the fourteenth century by Maharaja Agrasen, the ancestor of the Agrawal community. The architectural style of this Vav is similar to the architectural style of the late Tughlaq and Lodi periods. The red sandstone and the architectural features used in its construction point to the Tughlaq and Lodi periods. But some archaeologists say that the ancient Vav, which preceded it, was formed by the Agrahari and the Ugrase, the ancestors of the Agrawal community.

From the top, this mysterious Vav looks very attractive and scenic due to its walls made of red sandstone and sculptural architecture. But as you step down, you begin to experience a strange kind of silence. The sky above disappears and the effect of the atmosphere inside causes the mind to contract, suffocate, suffocate, strange fears and melancholy. In the gloomy silence felt in its depths, between the high walls of the stone, when the sounds of the cooing of pigeons and the screams of bats and the fluttering of wings are produced, great fear arises. In addition, many see the shadows of ghosts wandering from place to place. If this ghost appears for an hour, then it suddenly disappears from sight.

The main reason why Agrasen's Vav is cursed, haunted and scary is that many people have committed suicide by jumping into it in the past. The ghosts of all of them are seen wandering here. Earlier this Vav was full of black colored water. This phantom-influenced black water was invincible. The person descending to the bottom of the Vav used to look at it. After a while the person's mind becomes sad, anxious, melancholy. Instead, the ghosts of the visitors who ended their lives by committing suicide earlier occupied the minds of the nine newcomers and forced them to commit suicide. This is how many people have reportedly committed suicide by jumping into the black water of Vav. For this reason, the bottom of the windmill is no longer filled with water. As the water soon became electromagnetic, the ghost became an ominous, negative effect, leading to suicide. After the water has dried up, the number of suicides by falling into it has decreased. Researchers believe that the black water needed some kind of hypnosis. One can still see and feel the presence of ghosts inside this Vav.

In 2009, Akash, who was involved in film production, and his assistant were gifted with the ghosts of the place. Before the film production, he wanted to see this place exactly. Thus, Agrasen's Vav closes at 6 pm. No one is admitted at night. But with permission from the Higher Authority, Akash entered it late in the evening to take photos and video with his assistant cameraman. There was a terrible silence in the atmosphere. Only the sound of bats was coming.

It was pitch dark in Vav. The light of the torch in his hand was spread towards the front. He started walking down the steps. So he saw a haunted figure like a shadow running from the balcony to the other. Akash saw this but the cameraman did not feel scared so he ignored the scene. After landing, the cameraman turned on his camera. At that moment he saw the ghost of a young woman in front of him gesturing and saying something. As soon as he saw the girl, his camera fell out of his hand. He picked up the camera and tried to take the front view. Even then he saw another young woman kneeling down from the steps. The cameraman was shocked to see the ghostly girl. He felt that it was not necessary to stop at this place even for a moment.

He talked to Akash about the ghosts of these young women. His face also became like a white cotton wool killed by fear. The cameraman and Akash hurriedly took two or four photos from the camera and climbed the steps and came out. Neither of them slept all night. The next day, when I came to develop the photos, I saw the figures of the ghost girls in each of them. Thus, many people in Agrasen's Vav realize that there are ghosts there. For this reason no one is allowed to go there at night anymore.
