Divya Dutta: I will never forget the lesson given by Amitabhji

- 'I just started the dance sequence and didn't even look in front of them. I knew Shabanaji was watching me. I couldn't believe that Shabanaji has been my favorite actress since I was in school. He applauded me and said, 'Very well done.'

Divya Dutta is a good and talented actress, but you would be surprised to know that she had a hobby of being a film actress since childhood, her family was not one that was associated with the film industry in one way or another. However, Divya Dutta, who has been dreaming of becoming a heroine since childhood, went to Kashmir to watch the shooting of Mithun Chakraborty-Ranjita's film 'Tarana' when she was four years old. In that film, Mithun-Ranjita was happy to be seen singing songs on a sheet of ice. The film's director Deepak Barry was his distant mama so he got a chance to watch the shooting in Gulmarg, Kashmir. After the shooting, Mithun Chakraborty waved her in the air and asked, 'Will Mary become a heroine?' And from that day on I wanted to dance in front of the camera.

"It was a dream come true, but it took a lot of time. When I was young, I used to dance to the song of one of Ranjita's films. Even when I was growing up I dreamed of the day when I went on stage and won the Filmfare Best Actress Award. Yeah Al that sounds pretty crap to me, Looks like BT aint for me either. There was no one in the film industry except my uncle. My mother Nalini Datta was a doctor and I also have a brother Rahul, but I assumed that when you sincerely want something, God will give it to you in any way. I did an ad-film with my mama. After this in 190 I had two films - 'Ishq Mein Jina, Ishq Mein Marna' and 'Suraksha', the shooting of which started simultaneously, 'said Divya Dutta.

'I remember exactly the rain sequence and then the shooting on the beach. I was thrilled as my dream finally came true in front of the movie camera. My feet were nowhere to be seen. Alas, the whole night passed like this and I was not even sitting during the shoot. I was standing and watching everything. My co-star was Sunil Shetty, he even commented that 'Heroine is good, but why isn't she sitting?'

My first film with actress Shabana Azmi was 'Umrao Jaan' in which she became my mother. He called me the day before the shooting. Asked my name and said if you can show your steps. I got nervous but said, 'Yes ma'am.'

Speaking further, Divya Dutta says, 'I started the dance sequence and didn't even look in front of them. I knew they were watching me. Shabanaji has been my favorite actress since I went to school and I am dancing in front of her. I couldn't believe it. He applauded me and said, 'Very well done.'

After this Shabanaji introduced me to Javed (Akhtar) Saab and also when Holi party was held at his house he told Javed Saab, 'We have got a great actress. This was the biggest compliment for me. What's more, when Shabanaji himself said this, it was very special for me. After this both Javed Saab and Shabanaji encouraged me and appreciated my achievements. This rarely happens, 'said Divya Dutta.

'Recently we did a film called' Shir Kurma 'which was very special because of its subject matter. In this film too, she became my mother again. The film has received many awards and accolades. Even so, owning one is still beyond the reach of the average person.

'Actually, my mother was also my best friend. I wouldn't take a step without telling them and even now they keep a watch on me from above and tell me 'Don't worry, it will happen, I will not.'

"I waited a long time for the highest honor of the country and that time came in 2014. I got the award for Best Supporting Actress for the film 'Irada'. It was a really wonderful experience because so many people were watching and so many people were really happy for me. This is a very prestigious national award, which has changed a lot. I finally removed the tag of 'Underrated Actress' and today I feel like I am really associated with such a beautiful place,' said Divya Dutta with great enthusiasm.

My first star in the sky is Amitabh Bachchan and in the end I was able to work with him in 'Baghbaan'. His presence only created a magical shadow on me and I stopped speaking. However, in front of the camera, my character was very bad against Hemaji and I was going to annoy Amitabh Bachchan whom I have loved all my life. I did my part, but when I got home my mother asked me how the shooting went, and I had tears in my eyes. In the end, I told him what I was worried about, 'said Divya with a sigh.

We met the next day at the shoot, I said goodmorning, but my voice was not as loud as it always is. They got angry at me and started complaining about how this girl has treated me. I was shocked. I said, 'But sir, this is just a roll.' And they got in their mood and said, 'You didn't have to take that role to heart. He explained to me and I will never forget the lesson he gave me, 'said Divya Dutta.

Amitabhji launched my first book 'Me and Ma'. My second book is called 'The Stars I My Sky' which summarizes my experiences with a lot of artists. I have revealed my mother's legacy through my words, 'said Divya Hatta.
