Ra Jasthan is known for its magnificent forts, royal palaces and observatory architectures like Jantarmantar. Rajasthan's cities like Jaipur, Chittorgarh, Bikaner have many architectural attractions. Chittorgarh fort is a sight to behold but the Victory Column in it is an architectural landmark of India. Commemorating King Kumbha of Mewar's victory over Muhammad Khilji's army in AD. Vijayastambha was built in 1442.
Built using stone, marble and red clay, this pillar uses many principles of geometry. This 9 storied architecture is still intact after 600 years. The height of Vijay Stambha is 37.19 meters. Each floor has a balcony leading out. On the surrounding walls of the pillar are carved attractive images of deities and inscriptions. The pillar stands on a 10 feet high platform. This pillar has been included in the World Heritage Sites.
