- Dew became Moti-Kumarapal Desai
As the artist needed a kaldar, he thought that the king himself understood the greatness of 'Sri Bhagavatakatha'. And make him happy and get good wealth.
Thinking like this Panditji went to the king and said, 'O Rajan! I have studied religious scriptures deeply. You know that 'Shrimad Bhagwat' is also a very excellent book. I have come to you with the desire that this book should be listened to by an Acharya. May you be blessed to hear it, I feel.'
The meaning behind Panditji's words became king. He felt that if this Pandit understood the secret of 'Shrimad Bhagwat', then why is he walking in front of it now? Seen that this Pandit's eyes are more focused on money than religion.
Chatur Rajvi told Panditji that his desire to hear 'Shrimad Bhagwat' is great, but for that Panditji should re-study the scripture twice. Then they will hear it from him.
The anger of the wise Pandit could not be overcome, but having a king in front of him calmed his mind. How can the King ask a Pandit like himself to read 'Shrimad Bhagwat' twice again. The foolish king does not even realize that he has studied this deeply for twelve years.
Panditji spoke to his wife. The wife explained to him that maybe the king had another idea behind this. The king wants to hire you as the chief theologian, do you want to read the scriptures twice?
Panditji studied the scripture twice again in depth. Prepared answers to all the questions and went to the royal court.
The king welcomed the Panditji with reverence. Panditji said, 'Maharaj has studied 'Shrimad Bhagwat' completely twice as per your order. Now I want to take care of you. My wish is that hearing this may increase your fame greatly and progress in religious thought.
The king turned the water on the Pandit's words and said, 'Panditji, don't worry, but I have one request that you read this book once more.'
The Brahmin was very disappointed. Again his wife explained that the king must have some deeper motive behind doing so.
Panditji chose a secluded place. Leaving the entanglements of the world, started a meditation study of 'Shrimad Bhagwat'. As he studied deeper, he became absorbed in the glory of God. The desire for wealth and honor is gone, but body care and food are also forgotten.
Panditji's wife was disturbed by this situation. Now what to do for a living? So he went to the king, and cried out.
The king was pleased and walked forward to meet the Brahmin and saluted him with apologies. The king gave wealth and grain to the Brahmin.
The essence of this story is that the study of scriptures is one thing and the indwelling of religion in the heart is another.
Knowledge about religion or God, the possessor may be blind, can only be said to know about God, but knowledge and experience are two very different things. Knowledge of God is not experience of God.
