True stories love true characters: Siddharth Malhotra

- I don't see the movie business as a factory that churns out new movies. Similarly, I have no intention of keeping a diary full of dates. My life has only one purpose - to work without taking long breaks.

Siddharth Malhotra is a popular star of the young generation of Bollywood, but he has done only 13 films in his 10-year career. It is surprising to know that fifty-five-year-old Akshay Kumar does four films in a year, while a youngster like Siddharth is very selective in doing films. Nowadays, Siddharth is busy with the work of 'Mission Majnu'. After a few weeks the film will stream directly on OTT. About the low number of films, Siddharth Malhotra says, 'Look, I have absolutely no regrets or qualms about doing fewer films. I don't see the movie business as a factory churning out new movies. Similarly, I have no intention of keeping a diary full of dates. My life has only one purpose - to work without taking long breaks. However, it does not mean that I will start choosing wrong films.'

'Mission Majnu' is a spy-thriller based on a true story, in which Siddharth goes to Pakistan to carry out a covert mission as an agent of India's secret agency RAW. The actor admits that, 'I love doing films like 'Shershah' which show real characters. In 'Mission Majnu', I am playing a character from the 1970s. So I will appear in period costumes. Due to this, Ultano film has got a fresh look.'

The 37-year-old actor, who debuted on the big screen with Karan Johar's 'Student of the Year' in 2012, says looking at his filmography, 'I don't feel like I have been in the industry for many years. In all these years, I have felt a Brahman that no actor can sit and wait for his star to shine. You have to be prepared for your time. You have to be ready to audition, listen to the script of the film, prepare and perform each scene. I have handled my career in the same way.'

Hasi To Phasi', 'Ek Villain' (both released in 2014), 'Ittefaq' (2017), 'Aiyaari' (2018) and 'Marjawan' (2019) etc. has made a mark as a tireless actor. Presenting his future plan, actor Siddharth says, 'As an artist, I want to realize different types of stories on the cinema screen. I want my fans to see the poster or the trailer of my new film, it will give them some kind of refreshment.'

South actress Rashmika Mandana is Siddharth's heroine in 'Mission Majnu'. Directed by Shantanu Bagchi, the film also stars Kumud Mishra and Parmeet Sethi in pivotal roles.

By the way, Siddharth Malhotra, do you know that Kiara Advani is going to get married in Bollywood?
